Sarah was awarded her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry (B.Sc.) at LMU Munich, doing ther her Bachelor thesis with Prof. Dr. Ivanovic-Burmazovic. During her Master studies at LMU Munich, Sarah performed internships with Prof. Dr. Harald John at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the German Armed Forces. She completed her Master thesis on synthetic pathways towards bioinspired lanthanide chelators in our group, and is currently investigating the influence of rare-earth elements on the Origins of Life.
Johanna received her Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Economic Chemistry at the HHU in Düsseldorf. For her Bachelor's degree, she focused on organic chemistry and prepared her thesis in the group of Prof. Czekelius where she investigated the synthesis of derivatives of glycol-bridged Epigallocatechingallat. She joined our group for her Master’s thesis working on the synthesis and immobilization of biomimetic iron(IV)-oxo complexes using click-chemistry. For her PhD, she will continue her previous work and focus on the use of biomimetic complexes in synthetic epigenetics.
